For over 19 years we have provided courier services to a major life sciences pharmaceutical supplier.
We supplement their own fleet requirements by providing exactly timed delivery services often to specified individuals or departments in hospitals nationwide.
A number of their stock items are life-changing and prompt delivery can be vital in improving a patient’s long-term prognosis- as a result, we often have to provide detailed updates on driver progress. As usage is patient dependent there are often requirements to deliver out of normal day working hours as well as weekends and bank holidays.
We also provide services where a time-specific delivery is required for regular use items to NHS Surgeries & Practices as well as private hospitals and clinics throughout the UK as well as to exhibition locations that the customer is attending.
Our service offering also extends to supporting our customers with the delivery of veterinary products which can be to practice surgeries as well as to vets working (literally, sometimes!) in the field at farms or other animal poultry or fish establishments.
The key part of service to this customer is communication and, as such, for many deliveries, we have to liaise with our customer’s transport department, their customer care team, their security team as well loading supervisor & operatives.
At the delivery point- especially in large hospitals we usually contact the nominated recipient with an eta and, out of hours, often have to arrange a specific meeting point.
